Throughout Cave Spring's early history, there have always been those that 'summered' in Cave Spring, or built summer homes there to enjoy the healing effect of the cold crystal clear springs and the peaceful surroundings. To them, Cave Spring was a resort destination, and along with their monetary contributions to the town, they contributed significantly to it's cultural, intellectual and social advancement.
We welcome any additions to this illustrious list that we have begun below:
Dr. and Mrs. Theodosius Bartow of Savannah, made a summer home in Cave Spring years before the Civil War. - They donated the land for the Episcopal Church.
